What Noodly is
Noodly is a recipe and shopping-list app for your own personal, household cooking. It is free to download, and the recipes, the search and the shopping list are free to use. It requires an account, which is also free: that is what keeps your favourites, your own recipes, your list and your plan yours, and lets them move between your devices. An optional subscription, Noodly Plus, unlocks the tools that organise a whole week of cooking.
Noodly Plus subscription
Most of Noodly is free and stays free: all the recipes, the search, the per-recipe shopping list and the kitchen tools. Noodly Plus unlocks the weekly meal planner, the aisle-sorted shopping list, family sharing, allergen and diet filtering, and the unlimited AI Chef.
There are two plans: €9.99 a month or €59.99 a year. They unlock exactly the same features — only the billing period differs. The prices here are indicative: the amount you actually pay is shown by the App Store, in your own currency, before you confirm.
A 3-day free trial is available once per subscription group, per Apple ID. The trial belongs to the plan you start it on: when it ends, that plan’s price begins. If you do not want that to happen, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel or change plan at any time in your App Store account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Switching from monthly to yearly takes effect immediately and the App Store credits the unused part of the monthly period; switching from yearly to monthly takes effect at the end of the current period. There is no refund for a period already started unless the law requires one, and refunds are handled by Apple.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple and are tied to your account, not to your device. If you move to a new phone, Profile → Restore purchases brings it back, with no new payment.
Right of withdrawal (EU)
If you live in the EU, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. Noodly Plus is digital content that starts working the moment you subscribe, so when you confirm the purchase you also ask us to begin at once and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal ends once the service has started. The free trial exists so you can decide before any money changes hands.
Purchases are made through the App Store, which means Apple is the merchant of record: refund requests go to Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. Nothing here limits the rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.
Recipes are guidance, not instruction
Cooking times, temperatures and quantities are starting points, not guarantees. Ovens, ingredients and pans differ. Use your own judgement, especially when cooking meat, fish, eggs and preserves, and follow the food-safety rules that apply where you live.
Allergens and nutrition
Allergen and diet filtering reads the ingredient text, automatically, and nutritional values are calculated estimates. Both can be wrong. The filter can miss an allergen — for example when it appears under an unusual name, abbreviated, or inside a compound ingredient — and it can flag one that is not actually in the dish. It is a convenience, not clinical decision support.
The exact composition of shop products, and cross-contamination during manufacturing, are invisible to the app. The only reliable source is the packaging of the product you bought. If you have an allergy or a medical condition, always check it, and ask a professional where it matters.
Noodly is not a medical device and gives no medical or dietary advice. If you have an allergic reaction, seek medical help; for severe symptoms, call the emergency services.
Your content
Recipes you write, photos you add and lists you build stay yours. If you use an account, you give us permission to store and transmit that content for one purpose only: showing it back to you on your own devices. We claim no ownership and we don’t publish it anywhere.
Photos
The recipe photos come from Wikimedia Commons, TheMealDB and Unsplash, under their own licences. Most of the Commons photos are Creative Commons, which ask for the author and the licence to be named — the full list, one line per photo, is on the photo credits page.
Imported recipes
When you import a recipe from a website, that recipe belongs to whoever published it, and Noodly keeps a link back to the source. Import is for your own private use — it is not a licence to republish someone else’s work.
Fair use
Please don’t try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, use it to distribute unlawful material, or automate access to it at a scale that affects other people. We may suspend an account that does.
Availability and liability
The app is provided as it is. We work to keep it running and correct, but we can’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or right about every recipe. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from use of the app — including where the allergen or diet filtering, the nutrition estimate or a recipe’s data was wrong and the loss arose from relying on it.
We do not exclude liability for death, personal injury or damage to health caused by breach of contract, or for damage caused intentionally — the law does not allow that to be excluded. Consumer rights that cannot be limited by contract are likewise unaffected.
Ending it
You can stop using Noodly at any time, and delete your account and all server-side data from inside the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. Deleting the app removes the data held on your device.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and say so in the app. Continuing to use Noodly after a change means you accept it.
